Aldo Nove was born in Varese on July 12,
1967. After completing a degree in moral philosophy,
he was quite young when he first published three collections of poetry
that were later published
in Fuoco su Babilonia! (Crocetti editore,
2002). In 1996 he published his first collection of short
stories, entitled Woobinda e altre storie senza
lieto fine (Castelvecchi editore), which is now
included in Superwoobinda, Einaudi, 2002,
3rd edition. His first novel, Puerto Plata Market,
was
published by Einaudi in 1997, followed by Amore
mio infinito (Einaudi, 2000), and La più
grande
Balena morta della Lombardia (Einaudi, 2004). In 2001, his collection
of poetry entitled Covers.
Nelle galassie oggi come oggi included his work along with that
of Raul Montanari and Tiziano
Scarpa (published by Einaudi’s Collana Bianca). He edited the collection
of performance poetry
entitled Inversi for the publisher Bompiani.
In 2004 he also published Milano non è
Milano
(Laterza), and Candido soap-opera musical
(Edizioni Il Melangolo) with Andrea Liberovici.
His work has been translated into French, Russian, German, Spanish, Serbian,
Romanian and
Hebrew.
